Estrid Tinwhiskers
Background
The tinwhisker clan is a river clan, operating the trade barges that go up and down the river between The City of Home and the mountains. As a result, Estrid spent her childhood on a series of different boats, and did a lot of traveling. As an adolescent, she apprenticed at a ropeworks in home for a while, and was quite good at it. While living in the city, she made friends with some students from a local wizard college, and found that she had a knack for the art, and she combined her talents for ropemaking, knotwork, and magic, to form a unique sort of "spellbook" to store her research.
Eventually, Estrid wanted to explore the world more, and so, with her grandmother's blessing, after attaining the rank of journeydwarf at the ropeworks, she set out on a sailing vessel to see the world
Appearance
Estrid has light brown skin, bushy brows, and green eyes. Her coat of plates is prominently decorated with lots of small ropes in bright colors that she's crafted. She wears her long grey hair in lots of tight tiny braids, but she wears her thick sideburns loose. Her favorite color is green.
Three NPCs
- Olga Tinwhiskers - Matriarch of the Tinwhisker Clan, and Estrid's grandmother. Ancient and shrewd. Likes Estrid and is proud of her magical accomplishments, but also has dozens of other grandkids and great-grandkids, and is busy running a successful trade empire. Even in her old age, she is quite busy.
- Twill Pennywhistle - A gnome spellcaster that I made friends with while pubcrawling in my youth. He was a student at a local wizard college, but now he works in a potion shop. Sometimes, he'll offer to let Estrid test out his new experiments.
- Althruthr Redanvil - Estrid's ex-girlfriend. Broke up because Estrid wanted to wander while Althruthr wanted to settle down. An accomplished smith in the mountains up north. She and Estrid are still friendly, and she likes getting news from down south and about Estrid's adventures. While they don't see each other much any more, they keep in touch regularly through post.
